Professional Experience

Mr. Herring is an Associate with the firm. Prior to this, Mr. Herring was an Associate at the firm of Herring & Irwin, LLP, in Austin, Texas, with his practice focused on state regulation, open records issues, and legal malpractice issues. Mr. Herring also interned at the City of Austin Planning and Development Review Department.

Details of Practice

Municipal Approvals – Mr. Herring has helped owners and developers obtain necessary annexation and zoning approvals, subdivision approvals, site plans, development permits, demolition permits for historic structures, and other municipal approvals for their projects. He has an expertise in municipal and county ordinances in and around Central Texas, as well as state and federal law affecting property rights and entitlements. Mr. Herring served two years on Austin’s Code Advisory Group that is assisting in re-writing Austin’s Land Development Code.


Mr. Herring represents owners and developers concerning site acquisition and development, project sales, development planning, pre-construction and construction, and environmental issues. Mr. Herring has worked on real estate projects involving office buildings, mixed use developments, multi-family developments, retail shopping centers, apartments, condominiums, single-family residential and master planned projects, and unimproved land. Mr. Herring represents landlords and tenants in connection with the leasing of retail, office and industrial spaces.
